It is a fact that the less frequent the purchase or sale, the higher the anxiety level. Buying or Selling A Home ranks high on the list of transactions that will leave the strongest with frazzled nerves.
Imagine going into a store to buy a dress or pair of pants. This is something you might do a few times a year. You might find it difficult to determine what colour you want, but you know that if you get it home and change your mind, it can be returned.
Now create a picture of someone that is buying their first house. They are facing a monthly mortgage payment of $1,000, property taxes, utilities and maintenance and repairs. But they want to own the roof over their head.
Then consider someone that has owned the same home for the past 20 years. They want to sell and purchase another one.
In both of these scenarios, there is a high level of nervousness. There will be sleepless nights. Friends, relatives and ‘the guy at work' are offering their advice. The buyer or sellers head is swimming with information. They are trying to make decisions that will impact their future.
There is no way to avoid the anxiety that is associated with selling or Buying A Home. Although it affects everyone in a different way, we all go through it.
The best advice is to take your time. Don't be pressured or pushed into making a decision until you are comfortable doing it.
