The Durham Region Festive RIDE campaign started last week. Statistics show that some people are not getting the message regarding drinking and driving.
1261 - Vehicles were stopped by R.I.D.E.
123 - Drivers were given Roadside Breath Tests
28- Drivers received "12 hour Suspensions" for registering a "WARN"
15- Drivers were arrested and charged with Drinking and Driving Offences
16 - Criminal Code Charges were laid against the arrested parties
1 - Arrests for Drug Possession
9- Non Alcohol related Criminal Code charges
3- G1/2 License Holder Breach of No Alcohol Condition
10 - Drivers charged with various Highway Traffic offences
The Festive RIDE campaign will continue until the first of the new year.
